Creator Hint: Trim MP4 Videos Easily

Because I'm an idiot

For my full time job or pet projects, I create video content. Thanks to software like OBS, I can switch between different scenes, show titles and more, which means my videos require few to none editorial touches. In fact, they require just a trim. When you find yourself editing videos a lot, you work on auto-pilot and invariably fire up a fully fledged video editing suite to make simple adjustments.

It’s 2023 and I just found out you can trim videos with QuickPlayer! Magic.

Instructions

Start QuickTime Player (or install it, then start it), then select the Edit menu and select Trim.

Then make the edits by dragging the start and end like below.

Hit Trim and save and you’re done. Simple. Can’t believe I didn’t know about this. Mega Doh. Thanks QuickTime!
